A Message from the Wardens – 13th May 2022

Dear Friends,

Our service on Sunday will be Morning Praise and 22nd May will be Holy Communion.

At Monday’s meeting the PCC discussed the next stage of precautions against Covid. It was decided to continue providing hand sanitiser as before and ventilating the church as much as possible but not having any restrictions on seating. There will, however, be cards available in the porch asking people to leave a seat vacant. Please do use these if you need to keep at a distance from other people. We are also relaxing the request to wear face coverings and leaving it as a personal choice.

The arrangements for receiving communion will be basically unchanged, except that it will be administered from the altar instead of the chancel steps.

I have put a basket on the font if anyone wants to donate to Christian Aid Week, or you can donate online at caweek.org. Thank you, Dorothy.

Diversity event – coffee evening

Monday 6 June 7.45 for 8pm start

We would like to invite you to attend a further coffee evening on Monday 6 June in the church hall lounge to discuss diversity and inclusion. Following our coffee evening earlier in the year, we have started to consider our next steps and any actions we could take to ensure our church continues to be welcoming to all. This coffee evening will be an opportunity to discuss and agree how we take this forward and the specific actions and recommendations we can suggest to the PCC. We look forward to seeing you there.

Working Day

A working day has been planned for Saturday May 28th, anytime from 9am. We will be joined by members of Christ Church Endcliffe to help us complete various tasks. These include gardening, painting, work on the drive and other jobs. It would be good if as many people as possible could offer to lend a hand on that day. Please let Neil Hayden know if you are able to help because this will aid in the planning for the work.

Have you any toys or games to share?

Cat Wiffen from the graft team has sent the following request. If you can help, please pass things on to Mel so that they can be stored in the office until needed at the end of this month.

Hi everyone, some friends of ours who are missionaries in India are coming back to Sheffield for 3 months in a couple of weeks after an extraordinarily hard time. They’re moving into a rental in Netheredge and have x3 kids 11, 9, and 4. Does anyone have any
books/toys/games they’d be willing to donate so they have some bits ready for them for
when they come? The 4 year old is the main worry in terms of entertainment! He loves dinosaurs, trains, cars, diggers etc.
These are friends who went out to India just before covid and are coming home for some rest and recuperation.
