A Message from the Wardens – 29th April 2022

Dear Friends,
Our service on Sunday will be our monthly All Ages All Together service.

At last week’s Annual Meeting James and I were elected as churchwardens for one more year and Rob Lancaster and Phil Woodcock were re-elected to the PCC, leaving one place unfilled.

Next Tuesday, 3rd May, we will be having the second Prayer Together evening with members of the graft team. It will be held in the church hall, starting with tea and coffee at 7.45. The first one was a very encouraging time so please try and join us. Ben led the evening and we had a time of worship and some teaching from a bible passage to start with then prayed with the people sitting at our table.

Posters advertising the Jubilee Picnic on 5th June were available last week and there are still copies of the flyers at the back of church for giving to friends and neighbours to invite them to come along.

The sign- up sheet for volunteering to read, lead prayers and make coffee will also be at the back of church and has plenty of spaces so please check your diary so you can offer to help.

We also urgently need a few more people to help with the sound desk and AV. Chris Booth is the person to see if you want to know what is involved.

This week we met with David and Cate Jockel and Flick Goodliffe who are planning a celebration of Stella’s life. This is to be in church at 2pm on Saturday 18th June, followed by refreshments in the church hall. They want to invite anyone from All Saints who would like to join them to come along. Music played an important part in Stella’s life. She was a member of the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus for over 50 years and some members will be coming to sing as part of the celebration. She also played an important role in the life of the choir at All Saints and we know that there are former members of the Junior Choir who are thankful for all that she did to teach and encourage them to express their faith through music.

Every Blessing, Ann & James
