A Message from the Wardens – 25th March 2022

Dear Friends,

Our service on Sunday, Mothering Sunday, will be Holy Communion and we will be welcoming Revd. Ed Pennington from Christ Church, Endcliffe as our preacher.

PCC Feedback

  • As Neil explained last Sunday, the PCC decided that we would maintain just the seats in the central aisle of church, facing the pulpit, as a socially distanced area and remove restrictions from everywhere else. Covid numbers however are currently higher than ever, so labels are available at the back of church and in the porch to put on the seats next to you if you would like them to be left vacant. Although wearing a face covering is no longer a legal requirement, we would ask you to consider still wearing one, especially when singing, to protect one another.
  • The PCC has agreed that we, as churchwardens, should sign the “Agreement between the Bishop of Sheffield and the Parish of Totley to contribute to a growing and flourishing church family in Totley, and in the Diocese of Sheffield more widely.” We considered the expectations that there are for our increased contribution to the Common Fund over the next 5 years and the potential for growth and outreach that will come with the graft with Christ Church, Endcliffe.
  • Work is currently being done to develop a new website ready for the launch of the graft.

  • The Annual Meeting (APCM) is planned for Sunday 24th April at the end of the service.

Diary Dates

  • Tuesday 29th March at 7.45pm in the church hall. The first of the Praying Together evenings with Ben and members of the graft team.

  • Maundy Thursday 14th April at 5.45pm in the church hall. Family Maundy Thursday meal. Details from children’s work team. All ages welcome, not just children.

  • Good Friday 15th April. Meet outside church at 2pm to walk behind the cross to Totley Rise Methodist Church for a service in their Quiet Garden. (Or meet us there at 2.30)

  • Easter Sunday Service 10.00am

A Message from Ken Filleul

I have a number of back copies of CHRISTIANITY and BARNABAS magazines which I can pass on to anyone interested in either or both – just let me know.

A Reminder about the Hall

Also a reminder that Beth Booth would be pleased to hear from anyone who can help to open the hall for occasional bookings e.g. birthday parties.

Every blessing, Ann & James

By teatime on Monday, after an amazing team effort, it had all been sorted and boxed and at least 13 car loads delivered to a central collection point near the Parkway. Thanks to Liz and Neil for co-ordinating it all and to everyone who helped in any way.

Every blessing,
Ann & James
