A Message from the Wardens – 25th February 2022

Dear Friends,

As we watch the news from Ukraine with horror and a feeling of helplessness, it’s important to remember that the one thing we can do is pray. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have called on Christians to make this Sunday, 27th, a Day of Prayer for Peace and the Pope has called for Ash Wednesday next week to be a day of prayer and fasting for peace.

As well as the newsletter I will forward an email I have received from the Thy Kingdom Come network which gives links to a letter from the Archbishops and links to more prayers for Ukraine which you may find helpful.

There is no service at All Saints on Ash Wednesday, 2nd March, but as in previous years we are invited to Christ church, Dore, to share in the services there. If you would like to go to either of the services and need a lift, please get in touch with us.

We hope you can join us for the Ash Wednesday Services on 2nd March.

Together in Prayer

Just to confirm that the Together in Prayer evenings with members of the graft team Planned for Tuesday 29th March, Tuesday 3rd of May and Tuesday 7th June will take place in the church hall starting at 7.45pm. Please save the dates.

Working Morning

TOMORROW 26th February 9am to 12pm. The weather forecast looks good so please try to come and help, even if you can’t manage the whole morning.

There are still leaves to clear, flower beds to tidy, downpipes to paint- plenty of variety!

Our service on Sunday will be Holy Communion and we will be welcoming our “Associate Archdeacon Mission & Transition Enabler” Revd. Chris Stebbing to preach and preside.

Every blessing,

Ann & James
