A Message from the Wardens – 8th October 2021

Dear Friends,

Our service on Sunday will be All Ages All Together and a Baptism. Please pray for Alya and her family as they join us for her baptism.

We also continue with our series on Generosity and Giving. This week we have the opportunity to give to the work of the Archer Project and their work with the homeless and vulnerable: – donations of food like tins of beans, ravioli, soup, meatballs, vegetables, tomatoes and desserts. Also cereals, tea, coffee, biscuits, cuppa soups and snacks. Toiletries – razors, shaving foam, shower gel, shampoo, spray deodorants and toothbrushes. They would also welcome sleeping bags, socks, hats and gloves. Gifts can be left in the box at the back of church. There is an inspiring video on their website with more information about the way they support individuals (archerproject.org.uk)

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Grace Foodbank last Sunday. Everything has been delivered to them.

Bishop Sophie will be coming to our deanery on Monday evening for the Confirmation Service to be held at St Chads, Woodseats. Please pray for Isabel and Phoebe from All Saints on this special occasion for them.

LICC (The London Institute for Contemporary Christianity) are conducting research into what is happening in the everyday lives of Christians in the UK. They are exploring the main places where Christians spend their time, how they are living out their faith in those places, and the things people do to grow as disciples (spiritual disciplines/practices). And they have invited us, as a church community, to take part in this research.

It would be great for us to do this, as we’ll get to see the overall results for our church. This will enable us to celebrate some of the ways God is at work among us, and also help us to identify areas in which God might be calling us to grow. LICC will be handling all of the analysis, so nobody from this church will be seeing your individual response forms – everyone’s results from this church will be mixed together.

To get the best picture possible of what’s happening, it would be great if as many of you as possible could fill this out. Please answer it as openly and honestly as you can. It will take about 10-15 minutes.

Ali will be speaking about this on Sunday.

It’s good to be able to meet for coffee etc. in the hall after the service. There are still a few gaps on the rota at the back of church so please sign up if you are able to help.

Every blessing, Ann & James
