A Message from the Wardens – 16th April 2021

Dear Friends,

On Sunday 25th April at 11o’clock, after the morning service, we will be holding our APCM. Before then we are required to display the Notice of the Annual Parochial Church Meeting and the Notice of the Meeting for the Election of Churchwardens which you can read using the link below.

Notice of APCM and Vestry Meeting 2021

The zoom details will be the same as for Coffee & Chat.

There are 4 vacancies for the PCC. Please consider prayerfully whether this might be a way you could contribute to the life of All Saints. Nomination forms are available either from the wardens or Chris Musther (PCC secretary) Please get in touch if you have any queries.

At Monday’s PCC we accepted a quotation for the decoration of the whole of the interior of the church hall. The plan is for the work to begin mid-May and be completed by the end of May. In the meantime the Toddler Group and Soulroots are hoping to meet outside in the church grounds, complying with the current Covid regulations, (weather permitting!).

The PCC has also been approached by a group which is working to introduce wildflower areas in Totley with a request to consider allowing part of the church grounds to be used. We are exploring the idea with them to find which area would be suitable.

Looking ahead, All Saints has been invited to host a confirmation service for the Ecclesall Deanery. It will be held on Monday 11th October and Bishop Sophie will be officiating. If you know of anyone who might be considering being confirmed please speak to Ali in the next few weeks so that a preparation course can be arranged for September.

Celia would like to thank everyone who responded to David Kereto’s letter telling us about the situation in Kenya. She has been able to send £450 to him.

Dorothy Firth has asked us to let you know about a series of programmes on BBC 2 on Sunday evenings at 8pm “Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline”. She said that the first one was very interesting and there are 2 more to come. Our Environment Series, “Saying Yes to Life” continues on Sunday with the subject “Water”.

This evening (Friday 16th) at 7.30 there will be a service of Commemoration for The Duke of Edinburgh in Sheffield Cathedral attended by representatives from the City and South Yorkshire. It will be streamed live on the Cathedral Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Coffee and Chat details as usual on Sunday from 11am. If you don’t have the details, these can be obtained from the Wardens.

With love from Ann and James
