A Message from the Wardens – 1st April 2021

Dear Friends,

A year ago we could never have imagined that this year we would still not be in church together on Easter Sunday to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. We have discovered new ways of worshipping and this Holy Week’s zoom gatherings have been very helpful and enabled us to explore the events leading up to Good Friday in a fresh way (if you were unable to join us, ask someone who was there what they learned from the “Play People” on Thursday!).

Some people had problems joining the sessions earlier in the week. You should be able to use the links below.

All Saints Totley – Holy Week 2021

Please find below a list of the remaining planned events for Holy Week
2021 (log in details are available from the Wardens).

Friday 2nd April – Good Friday All Age Family Gathering 10:00 – 11:00 – via Zoom In this session we will use a variety of resources to remember the story of Jesus’ death.

Sunday 4th April – Easter Sunday All Age Family Gathering 10:00 – 11:00 – via Zoom In this session we will use a variety of resources to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and all that this means for us.

Although we have not been in church this week the “Good News Journal” posters which Neil prepared have been appearing a day at a time, attached to the trees in

the church grounds, to tell the Easter story to passers-by.

Thanks to Viv Filleul for her photo of the blossom between the hall and church, taken on one of the daily walks she and Ken take.

After Easter, beginning on 11th April, we will be starting a 6 week series on the environment, based on Ruth Valerio’s book “Saying Yes to Life”. Full details are here.

Whatever lies ahead we have hope as we once more remember the events of Good Friday and the triumph of Easter morning.

May you know joy and peace this Easter.

With love from Ann & James
