Neil’s talk on Sunday ended with a challenge to us to be prepared to share our faith and to recognise that many people don’t really know the significance of Jesus’ death and resurrection. During the week he has made the suggestion that one practical thing we could do is to put pictures in our windows during Holy Week illustrating the Easter story. He has explained his idea more fully in the attached note. It would be interesting to see what people can come up with. We often have a “show and tell” moment during Sunday’s Coffee and Chat (details available from the wardens) when we admire peoples’ creative projects so let’s get busy!
We also want to let you know about “Arise Sheffield – Prayer in Action 2021”
Between 1st and 21st March Followers of Jesus throughout Sheffield will be using their daily walk to pray for the houses and streets they pass. The vision is to prayer walk every street in Sheffield by Easter. You can find more details and a couple of short videos using the link below. There will be an app available from 1st March so we can track our prayer walks and street by street see an interactive prayer map light up. Let’s see if we can cover all the roads in Totley, whether we use the app or not.
Dorothy has another suggestion for the knitters among us:
Calling all knitters! Baby Basics need blankets. 1st size matinee coats and jumpers for aged 1 – 5.
If you have anything I would be happy to drop things off at Glossop Rd. after lockdown. Keep knitting! Dorothy.
We have also been asked to pass on information about Gateway Filey. They are a Christian charity who have had to close their shop and have items to sell, including cards and Fishermen’s choir CDs. Further details attached.
Finally, Audrey Walker’s funeral will be held on Monday 8th March at 1.00pm at St Chad’s Woodseats. We will go to represent All Saints and there are spaces available if anyone would like to join us but please let us know so that we can inform her son Chris.
With love from Ann & James
