Rooted – Set Free (28th June 2020)

Hey everyone! Thanks for dropping in!. We are going to be doing things a bit differently over the next few weeks. We are going to set you a challenge or task based on the Bible reading that everyone in church is looking at. So get your toast and off we go!

Supplies Checklist:

Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?

We spoke briefly about slavery last week – now Paul is talking about it this week

This week’s task is to have a think about what it means to be a slave of sin, or a slave of righteousness. Paul says he is speaking in human terms for everyone to understand.

So what is the point Paul is making about behaviour and thought and action – and how it shows your belief?

The video below explains Gods plan for people, and what that looks like in life.

Questions to Think About

  • What does it mean to be a slave to God/Righteousness?
  • What does that look like in our everyday lives?

Pray to God in gratitude for what he had done.

Pray to God to help you worship.

Thank God for sending us Jesus and setting us free.

The last bit!

Write down some of the ways you could be a ‘slave to righteousness’. See if you can do some of those things during the week.

Don’t forget to wash up your toast plate!
