What is ‘Virtual’ or ‘Online’ Church?

The Church isn’t the building that we meet in – it’s the body of people that meet together regularly in their Christian walk. So by Virtual or Online Church we mean that this is where that same body of people can meet and interact online, regardless of of the how and the when of normal gatherings in a church building.

All Saints Totley intends this space is intended to be one that grows and changes with the church. Right now we are starting out by publishing services here that include various different items, and can be printed as hardcopy for those that aren’t able to access online resources. We’re also providing some material for our Sunday morning Rooted group, for young people Y6 and above.

We also want to develop and improve! Please send any comments or thoughts on to comments@allsaintstotley.church.

Of course, other organisations are also producing material at this time and we’ve gathered together some suggestions of other resources you may like to use below.

Although we are currently separated we are still one in Christ. Solidarity in prayer, especially corporate prayer is one way of expressing this.

You can find morning prayer on https://www.churchofengland.org/prayer-and-worship/join-us-service-daily-prayer, and in the “Daily Prayer: from the CofE” app on mobile phones.

From Richmond Holidays on their ministry livestream:

Christ is at the centre of everything that we do – at all times and in all circumstances. In light of this, we are opening up a platform to connect with all of you through Richmond ministry – remotely! Our remote ministry times are being led by Nick Jackson, a pastor at Love Church Bournemouth, who was set to be leading ministry in Reberty 14 – 28 March. We’ve been hearing from Nick online for the last three days, but we would love to open up the invitation for everyone to join! Nick is leading us in God’s word through the book of Psalms in the mornings and, in the evenings, we are looking together at the topic “Jesus meets…”. This has been such a blessing to us, to help centre our focus during these uncertain times. Nick will be sharing every day this week until Friday and we’re excited to extend the invitation to our Richmond family to also be blessed by this YouTube Livestream.

If you’d like to catch up of Nick’s previous ministry times from earlier this week, you can watch these here!

Join us at 08:00 and 18:30 from Wednesday 25 March (today!) to Friday 27 March, as we continue to seek God together. Visit our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages to follow the link the to Livestream.

Toby Hole is recording morning prayer every day at St Chad’s and it is available on the St Chad’s website for people to view and join in: http://dynamic.church123.com/podcast/6ace4824-c3b7-4a94-bdc5-69141bf205a9
